Trip Atlas
A native iPhone and iPad travel map built around personal Apple Photos.
Built the cross-platform core, fixtures and Windows-complete implementation; Mac verification remains pending.
Framework-free shared core
- Building a native iPhone and iPad travel map around personal Apple Photos.
- Built the cross-platform TripAtlasCore package with deterministic fixtures.
- Result / current state
- The Windows gate covers the framework-free TripAtlasCore package and deterministic fixtures.
- Technologies
- Swift
- SwiftData
- PhotoKit
What it does
Trip Atlas turns personal Apple Photos into travel maps on iPhone and iPad, with linked albums, manual additions, corrections and reconciliation.
My contribution
I built the framework-free TripAtlasCore package, deterministic fixtures, persistence flows and the Windows-complete implementation. The Apple-framework side still needs its first Mac build and device spike.
Technical highlight
The domain logic lives in a cross-platform Swift package so fixtures and checks run without PhotoKit or SwiftUI. SwiftData, Photos linking, thumbnails, local notifications and refresh scheduling sit around that core.
Results and status
The Windows gate is complete. Mac, device, signing, Photos permissions and CloudKit configuration remain explicit follow-up work.
